The Sedius model combines two contrasting design philosophies into a watch with a unique character.
The Bauhaus style represents minimalist design and functionality, while the Art Déco style embodies elegance, decorative elements and sensuality. These are two design principles that, by definition, should be at odds with each other. With the new Sedius timepiece, STERNGLAS manages to harmoniously unite the two styles.
Seiko VH31 Quartz Movement with Sweeping Seconds
The duality of Bauhaus and Art Deco is also evident in the movement: the special feature of the Sedius is, of course, the VH31 quartz movement from Seiko, which retains the reliability of a quartz watch, but at the same time has a sweeping seconds function like that of an automatic watch. This movement is also called a mecha-quartz movement.
For this purpose, the stepping motor of the quartz movement was modified so that it beats with 4 beats per second (2Hz).
The movement has a battery life of up to 24 months and a rate accuracy of ± 15 seconds per month.
